"Artist Statement" shows frontman Casey Burge's knack for inspired pop songwriting as the Portland-by-way-of-Kansas musician philosophizes over creative expression and how we define ourselves in art. He tells NYLON:
"'Artist Statement' is to do with the way people choose to present themselves, which angles someone takes and why. More specifically, it's about an internet friendship with someone who lives on the other side of the world and the opportunities and dilemmas that accompany this modern era of instant communication."
